Once again, blogging got away from me. I have been so busy with school (we do year round schooling), vacations (we spent 16 days on a roadtrip to Flordia, the kids did NASA Space camp too), and our never-ending kitchen renovation (countertops get installed August 8). Let’s not forget that I am officially 36 weeks along and due August 24th!!
During all this time, I released another quilt pattern called Pleasing Plaid quilt. Oh how I LOVE this quilt!!! It goes together so fast that I made four versions! I also made a version for the quilt-along (worked ahead since baby will be here). It is the most addicting pattern if I do say so myself! It comes in four sizes and two color-ways. The traditional three color-way is amazingly easy to pull together and the scrappy version is charm pack friendly!
You can use the same strip method with FQ (just leaves a lot of scraps) but it makes for fast scrappy version. The pattern comes with tip on getting your sashing to line up. It is so satisfying seeing that come together.
The Pleasing Plaid Quilt-Along is starting tomorrow August 1-September 2 on Instagram. You can still sign up today and get your pattern! There are four weeks of prizes (open to US and Canadian residents only) and lots of fun! We will be making the small throw size (all the sizes I made) and I can’t wait to share mine. The schedule is on the quilt-along sign up page below.
I loved how quick this quilt came together so I was able to make not one but TWO seasonal versions! I made a patriotic quilt and a Halloween quilt. I also made a version using Midnight in the Garden by Sweet Fire Road for Moda. It is such a beautiful line and I LOVED using black for the sashing.
