My Entire shop is 20% off today through Saturday.

My newest pattern is officially in my shop!! Let’s get right to the details. It comes in four sizes: baby, small throw, large throw and bed size (shown above). All four sizes use ONE pre-cut roll of 2.5″ strips plus some yardage. This is a really fun quilt pattern and goodness is it FAST. It took me just a few hours to make the above quilt.
This quilt is for my baby girl due in August. I wanted her to have an extra large quilt for laying on outside. This is the largest quilt I have made to date and at 71″x 88″ its HUGE.

I love so many things about this quilt. The fabric used is Little Ducklings by Paper and Cloth Studio for Moda Fabrics. It is such a beautiful line of fabric. It is light and bright and feels like a baby fabric but its not too sweet. When I saw this fabric I just knew it needed bright pink quilting and pink gingham binding. The details bring just the right amount of femininity to this quilt.

This is the first time I have actually labeled my quilt! I know, I know. It only took about 70 quilts 🙂 I ordered these labels from Ever Emblem and I absolutely love them but these are for new quilts. I need to order some iron on labels for all of the already made quilts.
The backing is Christmas Morning by Lella Botique. I had purchased the yellow fabric for a backing but when I decided to make the larger size-I needed something else. I decided the dark grey backing was so much better since this was meant to be outside.

I made my little girl the small throw in a Christmas version (of course!) using a Cotton &Steel precut roll I had for years. This was the perfect quilt to add some machine quilting and hand quilting. I quilted matchstick lines every 1/4″-1/2″ in alternating thread colors of blue and white. Then I hand quilted some Christmas designs on each of the rectangles. I made a YouTube video showing how I hand quilted these.

I think the sweaters are my favorite part of this whole fabric line so I had to quilt a sweater!

Finally I made the large size throw for my first ever patriotic quilt! As much as I love seasonal quilts I can’t believe I didn’t have one yet. This was the perfect pattern to make a quick patriotic quilt just in time for Memorial weekend. I used American Dreams by Dani Mogstad for Riley Blake. It is probably one of my favorite Americana lines to date. It is clearly, red, white and blue but its not too themed as it has florals, plaids and quilt stars.

I purchased the plaid print for the backing and the all in one (cheater print) for the rectangles. It turned out so beautiful! I can’t believe how quickly this came together and that all in one print was the perfect fabric to highlight.

The colors are just gorgeous and I can’t wait to get this quilted! I am going to quilt wavy lines myself about an inch a apart on my domestic. I think the wavy lines will give the quilt movement as if a flag blowing in the wind.
The best part about this quilt is that each uses one 2.5″ roll of pre-cut strips or less. The size of the rectangles change but just one roll is needed! It makes this quilt perfect for a spur of the moment quilt because we all have one roll laying around but two of the same-not usually. The other thing that I love about this quilt pattern is that its great to choose a favorite fabric from the line to really emphasize or a solid to complement. It goes together so quickly that it becomes the perfect practice quilt for hand quilting or machine quilting.
