Quilters are known for saving scraps. Some of us have jars full of scraps and others have boxes packed away. Each year we make New Year’s resolutions of using those scraps. However, it can be hard to find a pattern that uses more scraps than it creates. I designed Great Scrap quilt to use smaller scraps but still be a really fun quilt to make. This quilt is block based and its construction allows for easy color-based blocks, themed (like my Christmas version) and of course a true scrappy all over style.
Great Scrap Quilt pattern releases January 20th and the quilt-along starts January 24th. This will be a YEAR LONG quilt-along. Slow and steady finishes the scrap quilt! The pattern will be offered in four sizes so it will be easy find a size that works for you!
I am going to be finishing up my Christmas version before the pattern releases. Unfortunately I got off schedule with my in-laws visiting for 30 days and we all caught Covid (we were vaccinated) just before Christmas. We had mild cases compared to so many but it definitely was a bad cold/cough with fatigue that meant lots of resting.
Now that we are all better and out of quarantine, we are digging out of a messy home! Yesterday I actually cleaned up my sewing studio, put fabric away and even sewed half a block.
I am looking forward to seeing all of your scraps blocks and quilts! This pattern is truly so versatile and I can’t wait to see it out in the world.
