Parade of Hearts Pattern can be found in my Etsy shop. It is scrap and fat quarter friendly. Great for an advanced beginner (have a quilt or two under your belt). The options are endless with four rows of hears all different sizes-same or mix and match! It is a small throw size at 49″x66 so it is perfect curling up with on the sofa.

I could not wait to try Parade of Hearts in a solid version or at least all the hearts in one color. I knew this quilt would be for my 8yr old girl. I wanted the quilt to feel happy and fun. I knew she would want to carry this with her around the house, in the yard, and layer it on her bed. I went through all my scraps and I was able to find just enough of Lori Holt’s Autumn Love fabric for Riley Blake. It was leftover from a backing and I knew it would make for some classic red hearts.

I chose to do some straight grid quilting. It was very fast and I think the simplicity really allowed the hearts to take center stage. I love how the hearts in one color seem to dance off the quilt toward you.

This scrappy border is just so happy and frames out the main part of the quilt. It is a nice crisp border that sets off the lovely white space.

Small throws are wonderful sized quilts for my kids because they can lug them everywhere and layer time on their beds easily. My little girls room is all pink and I thought red would be a wonderful compliment.

I found this adorable backing with little red birds. It was the perfect backing for adding a little whimsy. They have tiny little white hearts. The birds just add to the idea of a fun happy quilt meant for a little girl with a wonderful imagination.

I pulled all the fabric for the top from my scrap jars from the hearts to the scrappy border. I wanted a binding that also suited the whimsy of the quilt top. I again found this leftover gingham in my scrappy jars. It was one of those happy fabric accidents because I used this as a binding for my little girls Christmas quilt. It was fortuitous than that I had just enough for this binding!

I wanted a happy classic heart quilt for my little for girl for Valentine’s and this quilt top is just that!
